Fishing Restrictions at Middle Dam – Summer/Fall 2024
Due to planned construction activity at Middle Dam, fishing access will be restricted over the course of the coming months. Construction activities will require crane use, which will periodically restrict access across the dam bridge. Recreators should proceed with caution along the earthen embankment access road and dam bridge. Exclusion areas will be created around work zones, when necessary, but please be diligent in staying away from active work. Due to varying weather conditions and other mitigating circumstances, these plans are subject to change without prior notice.
Piers 1 and 3 and the Southern Shoreline are expected to be open for fishing most of the summer. Please note: Pier 3 will be closed to public access on Monday, June 17, 2024. There could be intermittent short term delays during work hours accessing those areas (and the bridge), as the access is within the crane’s swing radius:
The Angler Access Trail which leads to the Northern Shoreline will be closed for the summer (signage will be posted). Anglers are asked to walk along the access road dike to access the fishing areas. The Northern Shoreline will be closed to the public during work hours, as it is in the heavily trafficked crane swing radius.
All fishing areas will be opened on the following days:
- Memorial Day
- July 4 and 5th
- Labor Day
Again, due to varying weather conditions and other mitigating circumstances, these plans are subject to change without prior notice.
