Fishing Restrictions at Middle Dam – Summer/Fall 2023

Due to planned summer and fall construction activity at Middle Dam, fishing access will be restricted over the course of the coming months.

June 27-June 30Closure: No fishing downstream on Piers 1 and 3 or within the 300ft crane swing radius during work hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm.

July 1-4Open: Fishing allowed downstream any time (on Piers 1 and 3 and banks).

July 5-August 30 – Closure:
No fishing downstream on Piers 1 and 3 or within the 300ft crane swing radius during work hours. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7am-5pm

August 31-September 11 – Partially Open:
Fishing allowed downstream on Pier 3 and along the north bank. Pier 1 and the immediate downstream south shoreline will be closed for fishing as this will be an active construction area. There may be intermittent fishing closures of Pier 3 and other areas due to crane use throughout the month.

September 12 – Closure: In support of concrete work, Brookfield White Pine Hydro will be closing the entire fishing area for the workday on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The bridge will also be closed to public access for most of the day.

September 13-September 18 – Partially Open: Fishing allowed downstream on Pier 3 and along the north bank. Pier 1 and the immediate downstream south shoreline will be closed for fishing as this will be an active construction area. There may be intermittent fishing closures of Pier 3 and other areas due to crane use throughout the month.

September 19 – Closure: In support of concrete work, Brookfield White Pine Hydro will be closing the entire fishing area for the workday on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. This includes the dike and angler walkway. The bridge will also be closed to public access for most of the day.

September 20-September 25– Partially Open: Fishing allowed downstream on Pier 3 and along the north bank. Pier 1 and the immediate downstream south shoreline will be closed for fishing as this will be an active construction area. There may be intermittent fishing closures of Pier 3 and other areas due to crane use throughout the month.

Please note: Red danger tape and signage will be used to denote fishing closure areas throughout the summer, but the public should be aware of their surroundings at all times.
