Access Restrictions at Middle Dam – Summer/Fall 2025

As we enter the final year of the reconstruction of Middle Dam, fishing access will be restricted over the course of the coming months. Construction activities will require crane use, which will periodically restrict access across the dam bridge. Recreators should proceed with caution along the earthen embankment access road and dam bridge. Exclusion areas will be created around work zones, when necessary, but please be diligent in staying away from active work. Due to varying weather conditions and other mitigating circumstances, these plans are subject to change without prior notice.

Various recreational access restrictions are envisioned throughout 2025. Currently planned closures include the following but are subject to change without prior notice.

AUGUST 2025

The vehicular bridge replacement at Middle Dam is taking longer than anticipated, and completion is now expected by August 22. While work continues, crews will begin other scheduled activities and will make every effort to keep fishing access open to all piers and shorelines through Labor Day. After the holiday, work will shift to replacing the downstream walkway. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to improve the area.

Please note: Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm. Due to varying weather conditions and other mitigating circumstances, these plans are subject to change without prior notice.

All fishing areas will be open on the following days:

  1. Memorial Day – May 26
  2. Independence Day – July 3 and 6
  3. Labor Day – September 1

Again, due to varying weather conditions and other mitigating circumstances, these plans are subject to change without prior notice.
